Aloha HSA Members & Friends,

What happened to 2025? It seems like just a few weeks ago when we held our April Installation Banquet where we enjoyed a presentation on the Kamehameha Schools Waiakoa Project by Castle & Cooke Hawaiʻi and Koa Partners. If you haven't had the chance, check out all the photos from the banquet here.

Please be sure to check out the updates in this newsletter about our Golf Tournament held last August. We are also happy to share news about our Wayne Lincoln Endowment. And thank you to the volunteers who helped make our booth at the PBX Show a success.

As we close out another productive year, I want to extend my sincere Mahalo to our members, sponsors, and volunteers who continue to strengthen Hawaii’s steel industry through collaboration, education, and community support. This winter edition highlights not only where we’ve been, but where we’re going — especially in our commitment to developing the next generation of engineers and construction professionals.

🎓 Wayne Lincoln Endowed Scholarship: A Major Milestone

We are proud to share that the Wayne Lincoln Endowed Scholarship Fund has now exceeded $100,000 in total contributions.

Why an Endowment Matters

Unlike one‑time scholarships, an endowment provides perpetual support, ensuring that students benefit year after year. Funds are professionally managed and awarded in alignment with UH Foundation standards, ensuring transparency, equity, and long‑term impact.

Key Highlights:

• First scholarship awarded to a fourth‑year UH Civil Engineering student

• Over $43,000 raised at the 2025 Golf Tournament

• Funds are deposited directly into the student’s college account for education‑only use

The 2025 HSA Scholarship Golf Tournament, held on August 1, 2025 at Hawaii Prince Golf Club, was a tremendous success thanks to our sponsors, players, and volunteers.

🌺 In Memoriam

We pause to remember and honor members of our industry community who have recently passed. Their contributions to Hawaiʻi’s built environment and professional community will not be forgotten.

Harry Saunders, Castle & Cooke Homes Hawaii (May 2025), Founding Member. Funeral service was held on July 12, 2025.

Vincent Nihipali, Sr., V&C Drywall Contractors, (October 2025) Former Member. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Mililani Mortuary's Mauka Chapel. Visitation begins at 9:30 am and the service at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at 12:30 pm at Mililani Memorial Park Cemetery.
