How to Become a Member

Membership in the Alliance allows you to:

  • Participate on committees and help steer the Alliance's activities

  • Participate in the HSA, where everything that happens nationally is put to the test and adapted to local market needs

  • Network with potential customers and other suppliers with useful solutions you can adapt to meet the needs of your business, on a national and local basis

  • Test the latest best practices and increase your bottom line

And that's just the tip of the iceberg! Members in the Alliance can:

  • Learn about new fastening systems designed to save time in the construction process.

  • Understand and provide steel requirements in the IRC and IBC, based on Prescriptive Methods (ANSI standards produced by the Committee on Framing Standards, a group funded by the Steel Framing Alliance)

  • Determine stock lengths of steel framing, and consider cutting services for longer spans. Include connectors and accessories making the steel framing package a simple alternative for your builders

  • Learn about the latest takeoff and estimating software

  • Learn what makes other member companies successful with steel framing

HSA membership benefits include increasing business opportunities, networking events and access to research and development, up-to-date information and other critical resources. Membership Categories


There are 3 membership categories in the HSA. Members and Associate Members receive all the Hawaii Steel Alliance (HSA) benefits, including product information, one complimentary company listing in the annual Directory, one complimentary member listing and access to members only section on the HSA web site. Affiliate members have all rights and benefits of Alliance members, except holding an office, voting for officers, and participating on the Board of Directors.

Construction Companies such as builders, developers, framing & drywall contractors, panelizers, fabricators, steel erectors, roofing contractors, specialty contractors, organized labor, etc.

Design Professionals such as engineers, architects, draftspersons, specifiers, CAD operators, etc.

Members in this category are companies not related to steel/metal industries, but interact and benefit from networking with HSA Member companies.
